All U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) were revised and are effective for 2012 calendar-year audits. The Auditing Standards Board (ASB) undertook a major project to rewrite all of GAAS. The three-year project included converging, where possible, U.S. GAAS with International Standards of Auditing and providing greater clarity to U.S. GAAS. The standards have a new format, plus a new codification and a newly created glossary. This course is taught by a former ASB member who was intimately involved with the development of these new standards.
