Our Behind the Scenes experience will begin in the Schilling Library where we will hear from Michael Olson, DBG's Director of Finance and Administration who will lead a conversation about the Garden's fiscal management. We'll then learn from ASCPA Member and garden volunteer Candace Tooke, CPA who will share details of DBG's Planned Giving Program.
Then we'll move to take an up-close look at a few Garden greenhouses with Kimberlie McCue, PH.D., Program Director, Conservation of Threatened Species and Habitats. The Greenhouses are not typically open to the public. This rare chance to enter the houses and learn from Dr. McCue should not be missed.
As if this wasn't enough, we are going to continue our experience in the most special way possible by participating in a private Monarch butterfly release in the Marshall Butterfly Pavilion. Every participant will awake their own butterfly from its state of hibernation and then release the beautiful creature into the pavilion. Have your cameras ready for this one.
We'll follow the butterfly release with light appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages on Gertrude's Patio where you can visit with presenters, staff and fellow attendees.
But wait! There is one more thing… they say timing is everything…our group will get an early glimpse of the much-anticipated "CHIHULY in the Garden," exhibit that opens November 9, 2013.
This may be one of the most exciting ASCPA Behind The Scenes programs yet! Space is very limited, so register today to ensure your spot.
