Webcast: Hedging Risks of Foreign Operations and Currency Transactions

When:  Dec 16, 2013 from 09:30 AM to 05:00 PM (MT)

The expanding global marketplace requires a sophisticated understanding of the risks associated with transactions denominated in a foreign currency. Stay on top of the risk curve by understanding situations that create exposures to foreign exchange gains and losses, and expand your knowledge of how to best manage and hedge these risks.  As more companies expand their sales opportunities and manufacturing capabilities in foreign markets, a sophisticated approach is necessary to mitigate earnings volatility from fluctuations in exchange rates and from foreign exchange gains and losses. Attend this course and discuss foreign currency risk arising from export sales, the balance sheet impact from the valuation of assets and liabilities at spot rates, and the use of derivative contracts such as forwards, options or swaps to hedge foreign denominated transaction risks. You'll review strategies to create more certain cash flows when transactions are represented in foreign currency, and discuss accounting issues and impacts of both qualified, and non-qualified hedging strategies. Plus, this course provides you with an overview of GAAP's specific requirements and their potential impact on financial statements.

Note: SEC reporting requirements and public company audit requirements will not be covered in this course.
